Yate overview
Yate was developed for people who want complete control over their tagging experience. Supports audio in AIFF, APE, DFF, DSF, FLAC, OGG OPUS, OGG VORBIS, M4A, M4B, MP3, MP2, MP4, STEM.MP4, WAV and WV files. Supports video in M4V and MP4.
Yate has a long list of features; most importantly, an innovative scripting system called actions. Actions can be used to update all of an album's tags with a single operation. Yate also supports integration with AcouticBrainz, AcoustID, Beatport, Discogs, iTunes, MusicBrainz and TMDb. All changes can be easily reverted and individual changes can be undone in any order. Whether you want to automatically or manually tag your files, Yate can do it all!

Debugging Actions
- When configuring the Debug statement, you can now specify that you want the debug information to be displayed in the Container Viewer. Finding relevant information in this manner can be easier than sifting through large volumes of text in the debug panel.
- When the new option is enabled, you can also suppress the display of the debug information as text in the debug panel.
- If you do not want to this automatically, you can do it manually from the Configure button's context menu.
Action Statement Changes
- The Set Action Runtime Setting statement can now bulk load settings from a key-value list.
- The File Path Manipultion statement has a new mode which returns the path to an application from a bundle identifier.
Bug Fixes
- m3u files created within a database file were not honouring the ./ prefix setting.
- When opening images in a database file, a crash could occur if folder.jpg or cover.jpg had upper case characters. eg. folder.JPG

This app is just way too complicated, even for an experienced user such as myself. I much prefer using Tag Editor which brings-up all the info spreadsheet style for easy viewing, thus allowing the user to swiftly delete all unnecessary fields; either manually or by search-replace. It's a 'jump straight in' app. I don't have the time or the patience to spend months trying to figure-out Yate.

I bought this application years ago. Reviews told me that this is the best tagger. First i realized that without reading the help pages i could not figure out how to do anything with it. As an experienced user, confident about my skills and very familiar with tagging my music , i put it to the side to pick later. Several times i did and came to the conclusion that I hate the User Interface. It has not improved a bit during the last years. Surely you can do a lot with Yate but the developer should focus not only on features but if not on looks at least on usability.
